History

"A Night in Bethlehem” began in 2008 with approximately 300 visitors.

This is the 9th year, and last year (2015), we welcomed more than 1500 visitors from Guelph and the surrounding area!

A Night in Bethlehem is a fun family friendly event that will take you back to the time of Christ 2000 years ago.

You will begin your visit with the Magi from the east as they show you the new Star that has appeared in the sky. You will be able to get up close and pet their friendly camel, Moe.

Then you will move inside where you can wait in the warmth of our church building.

You will be escorted through Bethlehem by one of our friendly Guides who will protect you from Roman soldiers, beggars and thieves. As you weave your way through the busy Bethlehem marketplace you will experience the sights, smells and sounds of Bethlehem. Try some of our freshly baked bread at the friendly baker, smell the aromatic spices, and your children will be able to make a simple craft that they may take home. At the end of your visit you will head outside again where you will find Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus in the manger. Stop to see the sheep and the donkey in the stable.

Before you leave, join us for hot chocolate and homemade Christmas cookies.

We look forward to seeing you and are excited to share “A Night in Bethlehem” with you this Christmas Season.
